Hades II launched in early access on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) on May 6, 2024, followed by macOS on October 16, 2024. A significant content update arrived on February 19, 2025. Console players will have to wait for the full release. Supergiant Games is using this extended early access period to gather data and refine the game.

Considering the February 2025 update and the time needed for feedback analysis and implementation, a full launch could occur as early as Q2 2025 (April-June). A May 2025 release seems more likely, marking a year since early access began.

The early access version is already impressive, exceeding expectations. A 2025 release is widely anticipated; the exact timing depends on Supergiant Games' final development and polishing efforts. An official announcement feels imminent.

Development started in early 2021, with many from the original Hades team returning. Supergiant Games has been relatively quiet about the release date, preferring players to experience the early access progress. Their last major press engagement was around the technical test and initial early access launch in May 2024.

In interviews around that time (May 2024), Supergiant hinted at retaining the core elements of the first game while introducing new characters and features, including the protagonist Melinoë, to keep the experience fresh. Fans eagerly await the full release to delve back into the dungeon-crawling action.
