Lies of P: DLC and Sequel Announced! A Year of Blood and Gears
Director Ji-Won Choi recently penned a heartfelt message to the Lies of P community, offering both a thank you and a tantalizing glimpse into the future of the steampunk Pinocchio-inspired Soulslike. Celebrating the game's one-year anniversary, developer NEOWIZ shared Choi's letter, revealing upcoming DLC and a planned sequel.
Choi expressed gratitude for player support, highlighting the team's dedication to the DLC, developed amidst Korea's summer heat. He promised the DLC will expand upon the original game's strengths while addressing previously identified issues. His commitment focuses on refining existing successes and improving areas needing further development. He also extended appreciation to his colleagues at Team NOUGH and ROUND8 Studio.
The most exciting reveal? Concept art depicting P in a snowy location, gazing at a lighthouse, hinting at a new, perilous chapter. Accompanying this was a musical snippet from the DLC soundtrack, "Lisrim," originally composed in 2022 by onoken. While described as "new," NEOWIZ owns the rights to both the original and the version included in the DLC. A music video, reminiscent of the game's style, further enhances the anticipation.
DLC Release Date and Beyond
While a precise release date remains unannounced, NEOWIZ's Q1 2024 Earnings Results indicate a launch sometime in the second half of 2024. This release will coincide with other NEOWIZ projects:
- The Legend of Heroes: Gagharv Trilogy
- Cats & Soup: Malang Town
- Cats & Soup: Magic Recipe
- Project IG
Previous teases included concept art showcasing an industrial facility and a wrecked ship, further fueling anticipation. Choi assures fans that their excitement will be rewarded, urging patience while promising that this DLC is merely the prelude to a full sequel.
