Marvel Rivals players are in for a treat! A surprise crossover event brings the iconic Advanced Suit 2.0 from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to the game as a brand-new skin.

PlayStation announced this exciting collaboration on X/Twitter, showcasing NetEase Games' reimagining of this beloved suit for their hero shooter. This sleek Spider-Man suit, originally designed for Insomniac Games' Marvel’s Spider-Man, has appeared in all three games in the series and is instantly recognizable by its distinctive white spider symbol. This unexpected collaboration with Sony brings a piece of console-exclusive superhero gaming history to Marvel Rivals. Get ready to see the Advanced Suit 2.0 swing into the in-game store on January 30th, the same day Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launches on PC.

Marvel Rivals scores a surprise collaboration with Sony's Spider-Man game.

Launched in December, Marvel Rivals already boasts a wide array of unlockable suits. However, this Spidey suit is particularly special. Beyond its connection to the immensely popular PlayStation series, the Advanced Suit 2.0 will once again be voiced by Yuri Lowenthal, the actor who portrayed Peter Parker in all three Insomniac Spider-Man games and also lends his voice to the Marvel Rivals version. So, when you snag this costume on January 30th, expect a familiar and authentic experience.

NetEase's addition of the Advanced Suit 2.0 provides players with another exciting addition to the already impressive content released with Season 1: Eternal Night Falls last week. This season introduced Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman from the Fantastic Four as playable characters, with The Thing and Human Torch joining the roster in a few weeks. And that's not all! Creative director Guangyun Chen has promised at least one new hero every month and a half.

While we eagerly await the arrival of the new Spider-Man suit, check out some of the custom skins players have created, explore the balance changes introduced in Season 1, and discover how some players are using the Invisible Woman's abilities to identify potential bot players.
