Leslie Benzies, former lead game designer for Rockstar titles like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, unveiled a fresh look at his upcoming game, MindsEye, during the PlayStation State of Play showcase.
A new trailer highlights MindsEye's high-tech spy thriller elements, bearing a striking resemblance to the Grand Theft Auto franchise. The trailer showcases third-person gunplay, high-quality cinematic sequences, and intense drive-by shootings. View the cinematic trailer below.
The official press release details the story of Jacob Diaz, whose neural implant, the MindsEye, has fragmented his memories, leaving him with disjointed flashbacks of his military service. His quest to uncover the truth about his past pits him against an AI-powered military force.
MindsEye has been in development for several years. Following his departure from Rockstar Games, Benzies established Build a Rocket Boy, collaborating with IO Interactive (Hitman) on this AAA action-adventure title. MindsEye will also integrate with the "Everywhere" platform, previously described as a "high-budget Roblox" following a studio visit in 2024.
While the new trailer omits mention of Everywhere, MindsEye promises an exciting action game from a prominent figure in the industry. Its release is slated for Summer 2025.
