Lego Unveils New Minecraft Movie Sets Featuring Familiar and Unexpected Mobs

Ahead of the live-action Minecraft movie starring Jack Black, Lego has announced two new sets offering a glimpse into the film's anticipated mob roster. As reported by GamesRadar, these sets – the Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring and The Ghast Balloon Village Attack – expand the existing Minecraft Lego lineup, featuring minifigures of Black's Steve and Jason Momoa's The Garbage Man.

The Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring ($49.99, 491 pieces) depicts a gladiator-style battle. Momoa's character faces off against a zombie riding a giant chicken (the scale is unclear, possibly a baby zombie on a regular chicken). The set also includes Steve, Henry, a giant zombie pigman, a treasure chest, and a small viewing stand with weapons.

The Ghast Balloon Village Attack set ($69.99, 555 pieces) showcases a large-scale battle in an overworld village, featuring the Nether's Ghast. The set includes one villager, two piglins, Steve, Natalie, Dawn, and an iron golem.

Both sets launch March 1st, a month before the Minecraft movie's April 4th theatrical release. The film's September reveal sparked controversy among fans due to the perceived contrast between the live-action characters and the animated world. However, the director and producer, speaking to IGN in November, expressed confidence in their vision and preparedness for varied reactions.
