Netmarble's popular beat 'em up, King of Fighters ALLSTAR, is officially shutting down later this year. The announcement, made on the official Netmarble forums, confirmed October 30th, 2024, as the final day. Even worse news for players: the in-game store closed on June 26th, 2024, ending the opportunity to spend any remaining in-game currency.
Why the Shutdown?
After over six years of delivering action-packed combat and numerous high-profile fighting game crossovers, King of Fighters ALLSTAR is drawing to a close. Built upon the legendary King of Fighters series from SNK, a cornerstone of fighting game history, the game enjoyed positive player reviews, praised for its impressive animations and engaging PvP matches. While the developers hinted at a potential shortage of characters to adapt as a contributing factor, the true reasons likely remain more complex.
The game wasn't without its issues. Recent reports of optimization problems and random crashes understandably frustrated some players. Despite these setbacks, King of Fighters ALLSTAR still managed to achieve millions of downloads on Google Play and the App Store.
If you haven't experienced King of Fighters ALLSTAR, you still have approximately four months to jump in and enjoy its legendary battles. Download it from the Google Play Store before the servers go offline in October.
