NieR: Automata - Where To Farm Machine Arms

Efficiently Acquiring Machine Arms in NieR: Automata

NieR: Automata features numerous crafting materials for weapon and pod upgrades. While many become readily available later, acquiring them early significantly boosts character strength. Machine Arms, a relatively rare material, present a challenge early in the game. This guide outlines effective farming and purchasing strategies.

Farming Machine Arms:

Machine Arms have a chance to drop from defeated small machines, with higher-level enemies yielding a better drop rate. Early game acquisition requires efficient killing of numerous machines.

Post-Chapter 4, a highly effective farming location opens up. After defeating Adam for the first time, the arena where the battle took place becomes a continuous enemy spawn point. Access this area via the Desert: Housing Complex fast travel point and proceed deeper into the ruins. The constant respawning of small machines, while not high-level, offers the best early-game farming opportunity for Machine Arms and Titanium Alloy. A Drop Rate Plug-In Chip can slightly improve yields.

Purchasing Machine Arms: (Spoiler Warning: This section contains minor spoilers for the final playthrough)

During the final playthrough as A2, after the village robots are eliminated, you can choose to erase Pascal's memories. This action transforms Pascal into a merchant, accessible until the game's conclusion. Pascal's inventory includes Machine Arms, alongside other components:

  • Machine Heads - 15,000 G
  • Machine Arm - 1,125 G
  • Machine Leg - 1,125 G
  • Machine Torso - 1,125 G
  • Machine Head - 1,125 G (Note: This is a duplicate entry in the original text)
  • Children's Cores - 30,000 G

By utilizing these methods, players can effectively obtain the necessary Machine Arms for crafting upgrades throughout their NieR: Automata journey.
