The Type-40 Sword is the final reward in a questline initiated by Operator 6O. To access this questline, you must complete two preceding side quests. Here's a step-by-step breakdown, including chapter selection points for convenience:

Post-Chapter 5: After defeating Adam and Eve in Chapter 5, you'll receive a call from Operator 6O. This initiates the "Investigating Communications" quest. Complete it immediately as it's missable.

Chapter 6 & 7 Progression: Advance through Chapter 6, completing the Forest Castle events. Proceed to Chapter 7.

"Terminal Repairs": Following a conversation with Pascal about A2, explore the city ruins. Operator 6O will contact you again, directing you to check your inbox at an access point to begin the "Terminal Repairs" quest.
