Nintendo's charming alarm clock, Alarmo, is waking up to a wider release! Coming in March 2025, this unique device will be available at major retailers worldwide.
Nintendo's Latest Announcement: Alarmo's Expanded Release
More Than Just an Alarm Clock
Forget the Switch 2 rumors for a moment (we know, it's hard!), Nintendo's focusing on a different kind of excitement: Alarmo's wider release. Starting March 2025, you'll find this interactive alarm clock at Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other participating retailers globally. No more Nintendo Online membership required—everyone can join the fun! Get yours for $99.99 USD.
While fans celebrate this news, the anticipation for the Switch 2 remains high. Nintendo, however, is staying mum on that front for now.
Instant Hit: Alarmo Sells Out Quickly
Alarmo's popularity was evident almost immediately. Just one day after its October 9th, 2024 announcement, it sold out in many areas. In Japan, sales were temporarily suspended on the My Nintendo Store, switching to a lottery system for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers due to overwhelming demand. New York City also experienced a rapid sell-out, though without a lottery system.
What Makes Alarmo So Special?
Alarmo isn't your average alarm clock. Featuring beloved characters and sound effects from games like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3, it offers 42 charming scenes at launch, with more promised via free updates (think Animal Crossing: New Horizons!).
Choose your scene, and watch a character patiently wait on the screen. When the alarm sounds, the character playfully wakes you up. If you snooze too long, a more insistent visitor arrives, gradually increasing the volume. A motion sensor allows you to silence the alarm without even touching the clock. It even tracks your sleep patterns!
Beyond the fun wake-up calls, Alarmo offers hourly chimes, sleep sounds, and a "Button Mode" for those sharing their bed with others or pets. While a Nintendo Online membership was initially required, this will no longer be the case with the expanded release in March 2025.
