Larian Studios Prepares for Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 with a Stress Test

Larian has launched a stress test update for Baldur's Gate 3's upcoming Patch 8. This pre-release test aims to identify and resolve any remaining bugs before the full patch goes live. The stress test is currently only accessible to select participants.

Patch 8 Stress Test Update 1: Bug Fixes and Improvements
A recent update to the stress test build addresses numerous bugs, crashes, and scripting errors. Fixes include ensuring Gale's correct interaction with magical items, improved container persistence within inventories, enhanced Steam Deck Photo Mode functionality, more responsive character poses, and refined cross-play capabilities. For a detailed list of changes, consult the official Baldur's Gate 3 website. Only those participating in the stress test can download this update.
Patch 8: A Major Update
Patch 8 is anticipated to be a significant update, marking one of the final large content additions before Larian moves on from Faerûn. Key features include:
- Cross-platform play: Enabling seamless multiplayer across different platforms.
- Over 12 new subclasses: Adding diverse character builds, such as the Death Domain Cleric, Path of Giants Barbarian, and Arcane Archer Fighter.
- Photo Mode: A highly requested feature offering extensive customization options.
Photo Mode: Unleash Your Inner Photographer
A dedicated video showcases the capabilities of the new Photo Mode. Players can access it virtually anywhere, during exploration, combat, or even in multiplayer (for the host). Extensive posing options, a free-moving camera, post-processing effects, stickers, and frames allow for highly creative shots. While dialogue and cutscenes limit options to post-processing, the possibilities are vast. Larian plans to release further tutorials to maximize creative potential.
