Loot filters are invaluable in Path of Exile 2, especially as the item drops increase. They significantly improve the looting experience by minimizing screen clutter and highlighting important items. Managing items manually on console can be cumbersome, but thankfully, PlayStation and Xbox players can utilize loot filters just like PC players. However, the process on consoles is slightly different, so this guide will walk you through the necessary steps.

How to Link Path of Exile 2 and Console Accounts

To use loot filters on console versions of PoE 2, you must first link your console account to your Path of Exile account. This is done through the Path of Exile 1 website:

  1. Log in to the Path of Exile website.
  2. Click your account name in the upper-left corner.
  3. Click "Manage Account" on the right, below your profile name and avatar.
  4. Under "Secondary Login," press the "Connect" button for either Sony (PS) or Microsoft (Xbox).

After selecting your console and logging in with your existing PlayStation or Xbox account, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the linking process.

Finding and Using Loot Filters

Once your accounts are linked, return to your profile page on the website and click the "Item Filters" button on the right. Then, click the "Item Filter Ladder" hyperlink. This will open a new tab displaying available loot filters for Path of Exile 2.

Select "PoE 2" from the drop-down menu above the filter list. Choose your preferred filter and click the "Follow" button on its page. For new players, NeverSink's semi-strict or regular filters are recommended for a smoother experience.

After following a filter on the website, open the game and navigate to the Options menu. Go to the "Game" tab, and select the "Item Filter" option at the top. Your followed filter should appear in the drop-down menu. Select it and click "Save." Your in-game items will now be labeled, colored, or accompanied by sound effects based on your chosen filter.
