Pokémon Unleashes Year of the Snake Mass Outbreak

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's Snake-Themed Mass Outbreak Event

Trainers, get ready! Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are hosting a special Mass Outbreak event celebrating the Year of the Snake, featuring increased Shiny Pokémon encounter rates. This limited-time event focuses on Silicobra, Ekans, and Seviper, running from January 9th to January 12th, 2025.

Following the recent Shiny Rayquaza Tera Raid event, which concluded the Year of the Dragon, this new event offers players a boosted chance to catch Shiny versions of these serpentine Pokémon. The increased Shiny rate is 0.5% before any additional multipliers are applied, meaning Shiny Sandwich crafting can significantly improve your odds. Remember, Salty or Spicy Herba Mystica, a Green Bell Pepper, and either Ham (for Silicobra) or Pepper (for Ekans and Seviper) are key ingredients for maximizing your Shiny hunting success.

Event Details:

  • Duration: January 9th, 7:00 PM EST – January 12th, 6:59 PM EST
  • Featured Pokémon: Silicobra (various locations), Ekans (Kitakami region), Seviper (Terarium)
  • Level Range: 10-65 (depending on game progress)
  • Shiny Rate Boost: 0.5% (before multipliers)
  • Access: Requires an internet connection. Access the event via the in-game Poke Portal News.

This event perfectly aligns with the upcoming Year of the Snake, but the future of Scarlet and Violet beyond this event remains uncertain. With Pokémon Legends: Z-A potentially launching in 2025, The Pokémon Company's plans for the games are yet to be fully revealed. This Snakelike Mass Outbreak provides a thrilling opportunity to add these Shiny Pokémon to your collection before the next chapter unfolds.
