Rockstar Releases Bully Anniversary Update After Six Years

Rockstar, the masterminds behind the GTA series, have just released an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile devices. After a six-year hiatus, fans of this beloved title can finally enjoy some fresh content—exclusively on mobile platforms, leaving console and PC players waiting in the wings.

Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!

Bully: Anniversary Edition's latest update introduces new languages and concentrates on enhancing stability and fixing bugs. Notably, Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges to streamline the update process.

Android users with compatible devices can now benefit from Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO), enhancing the visual experience. The update also refreshes the app icon and adds haptic feedback across both Android and iOS platforms.

Several missions have seen significant improvements:

  • 'That Bitch' now allows players to successfully pick Mandy's locker.
  • 'Weed Killer' progresses correctly even if you break the window prematurely.
  • 'The Rumble' no longer features police cars falling through the floor.

Additionally, the update addresses issues where enemies would inexplicably refuse to engage Jimmy in combat, leading to unbalanced fights. It also resolves crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a saved game from the pause menu.

What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?

While fans have been clamoring for Bully 2 for years, Rockstar appears to have shifted focus to other projects. Rumors of a Bully sequel in the 2010s were dashed when development resources were redirected to Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online.

With GTA 6 on the horizon, the prospects of Bully 2 seem dim, especially considering many original developers have moved on from Rockstar. Though not a full remaster or a sequel, this mobile update offers a meaningful upgrade for Bully enthusiasts on the go.

For newcomers, Bully offers a unique Rockstar experience set in a schoolyard sandbox. You step into the shoes of Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old navigating the trials and tribulations of Bullworth Academy, complete with the studio's signature humor and open-world antics.
