Hazelight's games continue to stand out in the gaming world. Their signature feature—where only one player needs to own the game for two people to play together—hasn't been widely adopted by others, giving Hazelight a unique position in the market. The most noticeable limitation in the studio's earlier titles was the absence of crossplay, which felt like a missed opportunity for their cooperative gameplay vision.
Thankfully, Split Fiction will support crossplay, and the development team has made it official. The Friend’s Pass system returns, so just one copy is needed for two people to play, though each player will require an EA account.
Hazelight has also revealed a demo for the game, letting players experience it together before buying. Any progress made in the demo will transfer to the full game.
Split Fiction is designed to guide players through a range of diverse environments, but its heart lies in portraying straightforward yet meaningful human connections. The game launches soon—on March 6—for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series.
