Stalker 2: For Science! Side Quest Walkthrough

In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, players can embark on a side quest called "For Science!" This quest begins with an encounter with Yaryk Mongoose, leading to a mission involving the activation of a measuring device.

Initiating "For Science!":

To start the quest, locate Yaryk Mongoose in the Central Elevator area within the Chemical Plant. Upon approaching, Mongoose will contact Skif via radio, prompting a meeting. Head left past the conveyors, ascend the stairs, and vault the railing to reach Mongoose. He'll explain the need to activate a second device atop a silo. Accepting his request triggers the quest.

Reaching the Silo's Summit:

Exit the room and climb to the building's roof. Eliminate any rodents encountered. Climb through a broken window and descend the external ladder to the silo walkway. Equip your bolt-action weapon to counter electro anomalies. Proceed left along the silo's top to activate the device. Activating the device will attract Bloodsuckers. You can choose to fight or evade them.

Confronting Mongoose:

Return to Mongoose. He'll explain the experiment's unforeseen consequences. Players can choose to kill Mongoose or accept the reward peacefully. Either choice has no significant impact on the game's progression. A peaceful resolution yields the Malachite pass and coupons, granting access to the STC Malachite facility (if not already accessible through the main storyline). The Malachite pass can also be looted from Mongoose's corpse if he is killed.
