Remarkably, all 24 characters saw representation, though only one player opted for Ryu out of nearly two hundred participants (data included eight regional finalists from 24 regions). Even the recent addition, Terry Bogard, was selected by only two players.
Dominating the professional scene are Cammy, Ken, and M. Bison, each chosen as the main character by 17 players. A significant gap separates this top tier from the next, which includes Akuma (12 players), Ed and Luke (11 each), and JP and Chun-Li (10 each).
