Developer Cygames has announced that Umamusume: Pretty Derby will be available in English starting June 26, 2025. This exciting news was shared on Twitter (X) on April 27, with pre-registrations opening the very next day on April 28. Originally launched in Japan on February 24, 2021, for iOS, Android, and PC, the game introduces players to a unique universe where legendary racehorses are reborn as "horse girls" or "Umamusume." These characters, who resemble high school girls with equine traits, train at Tokyo's Tracen Academy, striving to become renowned racers and idols.
According to the game's Steam page, Umamusume: Pretty Derby offers an immersive sports life simulation, complete with an in-depth training system and top-tier 3D graphics. Players can scout and train over 20 different Uma Musumes through a gacha system, participate in races, and showcase stunning performances. PocketGamer.biz reported in March 2025 that the Japanese version of the game generated over $2.5 billion in mobile revenue within just four years, nearing $1 billion in its launch year alone.
