Land vehicle performance calculator.
MotorSim 2 is a physics-based simulation tool designed specifically for evaluating land vehicle acceleration performance (note: this application is not a driving game but focuses solely on straight-line acceleration analysis).
MotorSim 2 enables detailed configuration of technical specifications while calculating resulting performance metrics. The interactive simulator features a speedometer, RPM gauge, throttle/brake controls, and gear shifting (manual or automatic) with procedurally generated engine sounds (non-sampled). It visualizes vehicle positioning along a quarter-mile track and allows saving performance profiles as "ghost" data for comparative analysis between different configurations.
Configurable vehicle parameters include:
- Peak power output
- Customizable power curve (user-definable data points)
- Torque curve (automatically calculated from power-to-RPM ratio)
- Engine redline/RPM limiter
- Gearbox configuration (supports up to 10 gears)
- Aerodynamic and rolling resistance coefficients
- Total vehicle mass
- Wheel/tire dimensions
- Gearshift duration
- Drivetrain efficiency
Performance calculations provide:
- Top speed analysis
- Acceleration times (0-60, 0-100, 0-200 mph/kmh etc.)
- Additional measurable metrics via the simulation interface
