Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Sales Soar, Nearing 2 Million

Embracer Group has announced the resounding success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, revealing sales are nearing the 2 million mark. A remarkable achievement, considering the game sold 1 million copies within a single day of its February 4th launch across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This figure nearly doubled within just 10 days.

This phenomenal performance is a testament to Warhorse Studios' dedication. The sequel saw impressive Steam numbers, exceeding 250,000 peak concurrent players—a significant leap compared to the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance's peak of 96,069 seven years prior. While the actual peak concurrent player count is undoubtedly higher due to console releases, precise figures remain unavailable from Sony and Microsoft.

Embracer, parent company of Warhorse Studios via Plaion, lauded Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's success, highlighting positive player and critical reception alongside strong sales performance. CEO Lars Wingefors praised Warhorse Studios and Deep Silver, expressing confidence in continued revenue generation over the coming years. He cited the game's quality and immersive experience as key factors. A robust roadmap, including updates and new content over the next year, aims to maintain community engagement.

Beyond Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Embracer anticipates the release of Killing Floor 3 later this quarter (January-March 2025). The company boasts over 5,000 game developers working on its pipeline, including 10 triple-A titles slated for release over the next three fiscal years (FY 2025/26, FY 2026/27, and FY 2027/28). Eight of these originate from internal studios, with two from external partners. FY 2025/26 will see two triple-A releases towards its end, complemented by several mid-sized titles including Gothic 1 Remake, REANIMAL, Fellowship, Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, Titan Quest II, Screamer, Echoes of the End (working title), Tides of Tomorrow, Satisfactory (console), and the full release of Wreckfest 2, along with other unannounced projects.

Embracer's recent history includes restructuring, involving staff reductions and studio divestments (including Gearbox and Saber Interactive). However, the company retains ownership of 4A Games, currently developing a new entry in the Metro series.
