Author : Connor May 12,2025

Dell has recently revitalized the iconic Alienware Area-51 series of prebuilt gaming PCs, initially offering only the RTX 5080 graphics card. Now, enthusiasts can rejoice as Dell introduces the option to equip the Alienware Area-51 with a powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 285K CPU alongside the highly anticipated Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 GPU, starting at $5,499.99. What's more, you won't have to endure a long wait; Dell anticipates shipping these systems as early as April.

It features an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K CPU, 32GB of DDR5-6400MHz RAM, and a 2TB NVMe SSD. The Core Ultra 9 285K, Intel's latest flagship CPU, provides exceptional performance for both gaming and workstation tasks. While it doesn't surpass the i9-14900K as hoped, it remains Intel's top offering. The system's cooling is managed by a large 360mm all-in-one liquid cooler, and a 1,500W 80Plus Platinum-rated power supply ensures ample power.

New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis

At CES 2025, Dell unveiled the refreshed Alienware Area-51 gaming PC. The new chassis, while reminiscent of the 2024 R16 model, features updated aesthetics and cooling enhancements. The I/O panel is now located at the top of the case, and the tempered glass window covers the entire side panel, eliminating side vents. Air intakes are strategically placed at the bottom and front to promote a positive airflow design, which reduces dust accumulation inside the case. The internal components have been upgraded, including a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest CPUs and GPUs.

The RTX 5090 Is the Most Powerful Graphics Card Ever

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 stands as the most formidable consumer GPU available. Despite Nvidia's focus on software enhancements, AI features, and DLSS 4 technology, the RTX 5090 offers a significant 25%-30% increase in raster performance over the RTX 4090. It also boasts more and faster VRAM, with 32GB of GDDR7 versus the 4090's 24GB of GDDR6. Due to high demand, the RTX 5090 is challenging to find at retail price, often selling for $3,500-$4,000 on eBay.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 FE Review by Jackie Thomas**

"The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has claimed the performance crown from the RTX 4090, though with a more modest uplift than previous generations. In terms of traditional non-AI gaming, the generational improvement is one of the smallest we've seen recently. However, DLSS 4 offers substantial performance gains in supported games, although it relies heavily on AI-generated frames."
