Running a livestock farm in Fields of Mistria can be lucrative, but the daily chore of petting your animals can quickly become tedious. Fortunately, while the base game doesn't include an auto-petter, modding offers a solution.

The Animal Friends mod by annanomoly on Nexus Mods provides an auto-petting feature, along with automatic feeding. Crucially, you'll need the Mods of Mistria Installer to use this mod.
Installation:
- Create a "Mods" folder in your Fields of Mistria game directory.
- Download
AnimalFriends.zip
, place it in the "Mods" folder, and extract its contents. Delete or move the original.zip
file. - Run the Mods of Mistria Installer to install the mod.
The Animal Friends mod offers several customizable features: auto-petting, auto-feeding, a friendship multiplier, and prevention of friendship loss. The multiplier increases the hearts your animals gain, while preventing friendship loss ensures those hearts remain.
To adjust settings, open AnimalFriends.json
(located in the extracted mod folder). This file is a simple text document. Enable features by changing "false" to "true," and disable them by changing "true" to "false."
The friendship multiplier requires a numerical input (1-100). Setting it to 100 bypasses the bonding process; setting it to 1 disables the multiplier.
Upon initial installation, auto-petting and auto-feeding are off by default. However, the mod automatically activates friendship loss prevention and increases heart gain from petting by a factor of five.
To remove the mod, use the Mods of Mistria Installer's uninstall function to prevent save file corruption. Always back up your save file before installing any mods.
