*Avowed* expands on the rich Fantasy world of Eora, first introduced in the *Pillars of Eternity* series of isometric RPGs. While the game features a diverse array of Kith races, the character creation options are somewhat limited. Here’s a detailed look at all the playable races available in *Avowed*.

Humans (Known In-Universe as Folk)

Humans, referred to as Folk within *Avowed*, are the most common race both in the game and within the character creator. As part of the broader Kith group, which includes various sentient and civilized species, Humans play a significant role in the world of Eora.

The character customization for Humans is comprehensive, catering to a wide range of player preferences. *Avowed* offers numerous presets and advanced customization tools for Humans, including diverse facial presets, a skin tone slider, and various hair textures. These options ensure that players can craft a character that closely aligns with their vision.

Elves

Elves are another race players can opt for in *Avowed*. They closely resemble humans but are distinguished by slightly different facial structures and, of course, their signature long, pointed ears.

Godlikes

The third race option in *Avowed* is the Godlikes. Although all Envoys in the game's narrative are Godlike, players have the choice to display or conceal these distinctive features. Godlikes come with unique hair and facial features, ranging from subtle to surreal. At the game's launch, players can choose from 14 different Godlike facial features and 4 Godlike hair options, which are available across all character races and body types.

What Gender Options are Available in the Avowed Character Creator?

In *Avowed*, players can choose from four Body Types: two masculine and two feminine, available for both Humans and Elves. There are also two voice options for each gender. Additionally, players can select their character's identifier, which determines the pronouns used to refer to them, offering choices between he, she, and they.

Several Races Present in Avowed Are Not Playable

While *Avowed* showcases a variety of Kith races among NPCs, such as Dwarves, semiaquatic Aumaua, and the half-sized hairy Orlans, these races are not available for players to choose in the character creator. However, there's potential for Obsidian Entertainment to introduce more race options in future updates or DLCs for *Avowed*.
