Midjiwan has unleashed a massive update for The Battle of Polytopia: a complete overhaul of the Aquarion Tribe! This marks a significant refresh for the game's first special tribe, originally introduced in 2017.
Aquarion's Aquatic Transformation
The Aquarion have received a dramatic makeover. Their land units now boast mermaid tails, making them either fully aquatic or amphibious. This allows them to traverse water effortlessly, although they move slower on land. A key addition is flooded terrain, enabling land and naval units to occupy the same space for the first time.
The Aquarion's buildings have also undergone an aquatic transformation. Construction on water is now possible, with Lost Cities nestled within deep-sea ruins, providing an ideal strategic base for water-based warfare. A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. Aqua Crops are back and permanently integrated, functioning similarly to land-based crops.
New aquatic creatures add depth to the gameplay. Sharks provide surprise attacks, puffers offer long-range bombardments, and jellies unleash electric shocks. Returning favorites, the Tridentions and Crabs, also get an upgrade; Crabs now flood the tiles they move across, complementing the mermaid-tailed troops. Intrigued? See it in action!
