Owlcat Games has revealed Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy as its next cRPG project, following the acclaimed Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader.
Announced during Warhammer Skulls 2025, Dark Heresy casts players as an Inquisitor - the Imperium's ruthless enforcers against heresy. The official description teases:
Embark on a shadowy crusade as an Inquisition acolyte in Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy. This narrative-driven tactical RPG plunges players into the grimdark universe during the Noctis Aeterna, investigating the enigmatic Tyrant Star. Command a diverse warband featuring both Imperial loyalists like Catachan Guardsmen and suspicious xenos such as Kroot mercenaries.Featuring deep investigations, consequential choices, and turn-based combat, Dark Heresy delivers an authentic experience of the Inquisition's brutal methods. Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy is coming to PC (Steam, GOG, Epic) along with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. A release window remains undisclosed.
Owlcat also detailed upcoming Rogue Trader content including the Lex Imperialis expansion (launching June 24, 2025) and Season Pass 2. The 15-hour Lex Imperialis storyline introduces the unyielding Adeptus Arbites faction and new companion Solomorne Anthar, complete with cybernetic battle familiars.
Season Pass 2 includes two major expansions: one exploring a Necron vault overseen by Trazyn the Infinite, the other venturing into the haunting Processional of the Damned voidship graveyard. Each DLC adds 15+ hours of content with new companions, mechanics, and story integrations.
