Nvidia's RTX 50 Series GPUs: A DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation Revolution
Nvidia's CES 2025 keynote unveiled the RTX 50 series GPUs, boasting DLSS 4 with Multi-Frame Generation (MFG) – a technology initially exclusive to this lineup, promising significant FPS boosts in 75 supported games. This includes titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Marvel Rivals.
The Blackwell architecture powering the RTX 50 series builds upon the Ada Lovelace generation, enhancing DLSS capabilities. MFG, a key feature arriving in January, accelerates FPS increases beyond current Frame Generation technology. The flagship RTX 5090, priced at $1999, features 32GB of GDDR7 memory. Other models include the RTX 5080 ($999), RTX 5070 Ti ($749), and RTX 5070 ($549).
Nvidia showcased the impact of DLSS 4 and MFG, citing Cyberpunk 2077 as an example. With ray tracing enabled and DLSS/MFG disabled, the RTX 5090 achieved sub-30 FPS. Activating DLSS 4 and MFG catapulted the frame rate to 236 FPS.
