InZOI Ditches Explicit Sex Scenes

The lead developers of the highly anticipated life simulation game, inZOI, recently engaged with fans to clarify some intriguing aspects of the game. When quizzed about the inclusion of sexual intercourse, the assistant director provided a notably ambiguous response, carefully avoiding the term "sex." The gist of the answer suggested that while male and female ZOIs might retreat to bed together with the intention of procreation, the visual representation of this act would be left largely to the player's imagination.

Perhaps that’s exactly what’s happening, but not at the level everyone expected.

This leaves players uncertain about whether inZOI will adopt a censorship approach similar to The Sims series or introduce a novel method altogether.

Furthermore, the developers shed light on the decision for ZOIs to shower in towels rather than using pixelated censorship. They explained that pixelation tends to fit better in games with a more cartoonish aesthetic, whereas in a game striving for realism like inZOI, such censorship can inadvertently appear overly sexualized. Additionally, they revealed a technical issue: when a naked ZOI with pixelated censorship approached a mirror, the blurring effect failed to appear in the reflection.

In fact, much of the ambiguity surrounding these elements can be resolved by examining the game's ratings. inZOI has been rated ESRB - T (for teens) and is expected to receive a PEGI 12 rating, aligning with the ratings assigned to The Sims 4. These ratings provide a clear indication of the game's content boundaries and approach to sensitive topics.
