Mattel163 Releases

Mattel163 is taking a major step towards inclusivity with an exciting update aimed at making their popular card games more accessible to everyone. They are introducing colourblind-friendly decks for UNO! Mobile, Phase 10: World Tour, and Skip-Bo Mobile through a new feature called Beyond Colors.

What Is Beyond Colors?

This update is a significant enhancement for the approximately 300 million people worldwide who experience colour blindness. By replacing traditional card colours with distinct shapes such as squares and triangles, Mattel163 ensures that all players can easily differentiate between the cards.

Activating the Beyond Colors feature in Phase 10: World Tour, Skip-Bo Mobile, and UNO! Mobile is simple. Just tap on your avatar in the game, go to your account settings, and enable the Beyond Colors deck under the card theme options.

To develop Beyond Colors, Mattel163 worked closely with gamers who have colour blindness to ensure that the new symbols are both effective and user-friendly. This initiative aligns with Mattel’s broader commitment to accessibility, with a goal to make 80% of their games colourblind accessible by 2025.

In creating this update, Mattel163 collaborated with experts in colour vision deficiency and the global gaming community. They incorporated patterns, tactile clues, and symbols to ensure that players could distinguish cards without relying solely on colour.

The shapes used in Beyond Colors are consistent across Phase 10: World Tour, Skip-Bo Mobile, and UNO! Mobile. Once you become familiar with them in one game, you'll find it easy to use them in the others. Be sure to check out these games on the Google Play Store: UNO! Mobile, Phase 10: World Tour, and Skip-Bo Mobile.
