As a fan myself, I am thrilled with Monster Hunter Wilds. From the stunning graphics and epic monster battles to the array of beautiful and delicious food, along with the stunning gear and weapons, the game is truly captivating. Yes, I mentioned food twice because it's that good! In this article, I'll provide a brief overview of the game and detail its system requirements.

What is the Project About?

The story in Monster Hunter Wilds might be clichéd and somewhat uninteresting, but let's face it, players don't come to the Monster Hunter series for the plot. The protagonist can now speak, which adds a new dimension, albeit with dialogues that feel a bit AI-generated. You'll navigate through six in-game chapters, but the story serves more as a tutorial.

What players truly value are the intense and thrilling battles with a variety of unique monsters. The protagonist, customizable as either male or female, embarks on an expedition to explore uncharted lands triggered by the discovery of a child named Nata in the desert. Nata is the sole survivor of a tribe attacked by the mysterious "White Ghost."

While the story has become more structured and detailed, it still doesn't make Monster Hunter Wilds a story-driven game. The narrative can feel overly linear, especially by the tenth hour of gameplay, potentially becoming tedious for those seeking freedom in their gaming experience. Thankfully, most dialogues and cutscenes can be skipped, a feature I particularly appreciate.

The campaign lasts around 15-20 hours. For hunters, the story might feel like an obstacle, but it's easily navigable with the skip feature.

Hunting mechanics have been streamlined. When you hit a monster, visible wounds appear, and by targeting these wounds, you can deal massive damage and obtain monster parts that are automatically collected. This system simplifies gameplay but enhances the experience.
New rideable pets, called Seikret, add to the convenience. They automatically run at top speed to your target or any point on the map. If you're knocked down, Seikret can quickly pick you up, allowing you to switch weapons or drink a potion, a feature that has saved me numerous times at low HP.

Seikret's automatic navigation to your destination means less time spent checking the map. Fast travel is also available, making it easy to reach camps.

Unlike previous games, Monster Hunter Wilds doesn't display monster health bars. You must interpret enemy movements, animations, and sounds to assess damage, though your pet will announce the monster's states, adding a helpful layer of information. Monsters now use the environment more strategically, and some can form packs, increasing the challenge.
For tougher battles, you can call for backup from other players or NPCs, making group hunts more enjoyable and efficient. If you're looking for additional challenges, mods are available to enhance the game's difficulty.
