DOOM: The Dark Ages may have stolen the spotlight at the Developer_Direct, but another major announcement emerged from the shadows: Ninja Gaiden 4. This highly anticipated sequel to Koei Tecmo's acclaimed series is slated for a Fall 2025 release.
The debut trailer showcased the return of the iconic ninja Ryu Hayabusa in a thrilling action-packed slasher. Ninja Gaiden 4 promises several innovative mechanics, including a dynamic traversal system utilizing wires and rails, as seen in the gameplay footage.
The game's setting is a striking cyberpunk city perpetually shrouded in toxic rain. Players will battle hordes of genetically modified soldiers and terrifying creatures from another realm, all while striving to lift an ancient curse plaguing the megacity.
Adding to the excitement, a massive remaster of Ninja Gaiden 2 has already launched on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and is available via Game Pass. Team Ninja's UE5 port boasts completely overhauled character models, visual effects, and environments, incorporating elements from later series entries and even adding three new playable characters.
Koei Tecmo's extensive efforts on both the remaster and the upcoming sequel deserve significant community recognition.
