Nintendo Unveils Switch 1 Direct Before Switch 2 Event

Nintendo has just announced an exciting Nintendo Direct dedicated to the beloved Nintendo Switch, set to air tomorrow, March 27, at 7 a.m. PT. This 30-minute showcase promises a detailed look at upcoming games for the Switch, offering fans a sneak peek into the future of their favorite console. It's important to note that this presentation will not include any information about the Nintendo Switch 2, as Nintendo has scheduled a separate Direct for the Switch 2 on April 2 at 6 a.m. PT.

With the Nintendo Switch having sold an astonishing 150.86 million units to date, it remains a powerhouse in the gaming world. Despite the looming release of the Switch 2, Nintendo continues to support the original console with a robust lineup of games. Fans can look forward to titles like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, both slated for release in 2025. Additionally, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is set to launch on the Switch later this year. The long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong, initially announced for multiple platforms including the Switch, is also eagerly anticipated by fans.

Given the Switch's backward compatibility with the upcoming Switch 2, these games are expected to be playable on both consoles. This Nintendo Direct might serve as a grand finale for the original Switch, eight years after its debut, showcasing Nintendo's final slate of exclusives. However, Nintendo is known for its surprises, so fans should tune in expecting the unexpected.
