The eagerly anticipated trailer for Peacemaker Season 2 has just dropped, and it's brimming with exciting connections to the Superman universe. The trailer opens with a scene featuring Maxwell Lord (played by Sean Gunn), Guy Gardner / Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion), and Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced) in a tense interview with John Cena's character, Peacemaker. The interview, which seems to be for a potential superhero team, quickly turns sour, leaving Peacemaker visibly frustrated as he storms out.

Mark your calendars for August 21, as that's when Peacemaker Season 2 will be available to stream on Max, following the release of Superman on July 11. This positions Peacemaker as the third entry in the newly rebooted DCU, which kicked off with the Creature Commandos TV series last year.

James Gunn and co-CEO Peter Safran are steering the DCU away from the less favorably received DC Extended Universe, which included films like Justice League, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Man of Steel. However, certain elements from the old universe are being carried over into the new. What we do know is that the entire Team Peacemaker will return, with the same cast including John Cena as Peacemaker, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase, and Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo.
