The eagerly anticipated trailer for Peacemaker Season 2 has just dropped, and it's brimming with exciting connections to the Superman universe. The trailer opens with a scene featuring Maxwell Lord (played by Sean Gunn), Guy Gardner / Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion), and Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced) in a tense interview with John Cena's character, Peacemaker. The interview, which seems to be for a potential superhero team, quickly turns sour, leaving Peacemaker visibly frustrated as he storms out.
This first look not only teases the dynamic between these characters but also offers a glimpse into the roles they'll play in James Gunn's upcoming Superman movie.
Achieving peace is a team effort.

Mark your calendars for August 21, as that's when Peacemaker Season 2 will be available to stream on Max, following the release of Superman on July 11. This positions Peacemaker as the third entry in the newly rebooted DCU, which kicked off with the Creature Commandos TV series last year.
James Gunn and co-CEO Peter Safran are steering the DCU away from the less favorably received DC Extended Universe, which included films like Justice League, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Man of Steel. However, certain elements from the old universe are being carried over into the new. Peacemaker is a prime example of this transition, having debuted in the DCEU with its first season and now continuing in the DCU with its second.
Gunn has reassured fans that "many strands will remain consistent as far as Peacemaker's story goes," although it's still unclear which specific elements will carry over. What we do know is that the entire Team Peacemaker will return, with the same cast including John Cena as Peacemaker, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase, and Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo.
Moreover, Gunn has confirmed that Peacemaker Season 2 will take place after the events of both Creature Commandos and Superman, with the latter's events directly impacting the storyline of Peacemaker.
This interconnected narrative approach promises an engaging and cohesive viewing experience for fans of the DCU.
