Pokémon TCG Destined Rivals Preorders Now Available: Top Tips to Secure Your Set

Author : Sebastian Sep 23,2025

The Pokémon TCG’s upcoming release, Destined Rivals, is nearly here, and I’m already clearing space for it while trying not to splurge on an Elite Trainer Box I definitely don’t need. This set reintroduces Trainer’s Pokémon, brings back Team Rocket for some mischievous flair, and boasts some of the most stunning card art in recent memory. Whether you’re a collector chasing shiny treasures or just love the thrill of a fresh deck, this set is calling your name.

The Pokémon Center website underwent brief “technical” downtime but is now live with preorders. If that doesn’t work out, keep an eye on Amazon, Target, Best Buy, and other retailers, where listings could drop any second. Be ready to refresh like it’s a high-stakes shopping spree for battle decks. Here’s your guide to nailing your preorder this week.

When Does Destined Rivals Hit Shelves?

The official launch is set for May 30, 2025, when sealed products will ship and hit stores, assuming stock holds up. The Pokémon Company appears to be addressing supply shortages. From May 17 to 25, select retailers will host pre-release events with Build & Battle boxes and early tournaments. Contact your local league store now to secure a spot—maybe bring some treats to sweeten the deal.

What’s Included in the Destined Rivals Launch?

I’d love to claim I’ll buy just one item and call it a day, but let’s be real—that’s as likely as me hitting the gym three times a week. We’re all dreaming big here, and that’s okay.

Here’s what you can expect at the Destined Rivals launch:

Special collection boxes with alternate art promos are also likely, featuring fan-favorites like Cynthia, Misty, Ethan, or Marnie. You don’t need them, but you’ll definitely want them.

Destined Rivals Cards to Watch For

I’ll likely end up with a stack of binders for these, but a few cards are already must-haves in my book.

Cynthia’s Garchomp ex is a total game-changer. It delivers massive damage, draws cards, and radiates champion-level confidence. I need three, no question.Ethan’s Ho-Oh ex blends utility with flair. Its ability speeds up Fire Energy, and Shining Feather heals your team while hitting for 160. It’s wild, and I’m hooked.Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex is all about theatrics. It demands a full Rocket-themed deck to shine, but when it does, it slings energy like a chaotic mastermind. Extra, and I love it.Misty’s Psyduck is pure chaos in the best way. Its ability lets you discard it to the top of your deck for no clear reason. It’s adorable, and I’m sold.Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex channels villainous energy with a Dark-type build that thrives on energy boosts and disruption. It’s perfect for shaking up opponents, and I’m ready to play it like it’s 2020 again.
