Prismatic Evolutions, announced in early November 2024, was set to invigorate the Pokemon TCG community with its international release on January 17, 2025. However, like many new releases, it quickly encountered global shortages, impacting fans in regions including the United States.
Responding to the outcry on social media, The Pokemon Company released a statement to IGN, acknowledging the difficulties in obtaining the new products. "We understand this inconvenience can be disappointing for fans, and we are actively working to print more of the impacted Pokemon TCG products as quickly as possible and at maximum capacity to address this," a company representative explained.

Efforts to mitigate the shortages are underway, with reprints of Prismatic Evolutions currently in production. These are expected to reach licensed distributors soon, although no specific timeline was provided. While some have pointed fingers at scalpers, The Pokemon Company attributes the shortages to "high demand" without further elaboration.
