Pokemon GO Fest 2025 Dates and Locations Announced

Launching in June 2025

Pokemon GO Fest 2025: What, Where and When

On January 6, 2025, Niantic officially revealed the schedule and venues for Pokemon GO Fest 2025. The three-day celebration will take place across three international cities on separate weekends. Here's the full lineup of locations and dates:

• Osaka, Japan: May 30 - June 1
• Jersey City, New Jersey, USA: June 6 - June 8
• Paris, France: June 13 - June 15

The developers noted that more information will be shared in March. They also reminded trainers that "upcoming events are subject to change," but we'll provide updates if any adjustments are made.

Annual Global Event for Pokemon GO Players

Pokemon GO Fest is a worldwide gathering that gives trainers access to exclusive items, special gameplay, and unique bonuses. While players globally can join digitally, in-person events are held in host cities. Both versions require a ticket, but the city-based events offer distinctive experiences as participants explore the host location.

A major draw of Pokemon GO Fest is the chance to encounter rare Pokemon not available through regular play. During the 2024 event, Dusk Mane Necrozma, Dawn Wings Necrozma, and Marshadow made their debut. Some Pokemon also have a boosted Shiny rate and appear in different city zones based on their habitats.

For those attending in person, the event features exclusive merchandise, habitat-themed installations, and community hubs to celebrate together. Team lounges offer spaces where trainers can connect with fellow team members.

While specifics for the 2025 Pokemon GO Fest are still being finalized, it's expected to follow a similar format to past celebrations.

Two More Pokemon Events For January Announced

In addition to the GO Fest news, Niantic revealed two more events coming this January: Fashion Week: Taken Over and Shadow Raid Day.

During Fashion Week: Taken Over, players can rescue Shadow Palkia from Team GO Rocket and Giovanni. The event also marks the debut of Shroodle and Grafaiai, available through 12 km Eggs. Other Shadow Pokemon, including Snivy and Tepig, will appear more frequently. Taking a snapshot might even reveal a Croagunk sporting a special Fashion Week costume.

Shadow Raid Day lets trainers challenge Shadow Ho-Oh in Five-Star Shadow Raids. A $5 ticket grants eight additional Raid Passes, improves Rare Candy XL odds, doubles Stardust rewards, and gives 50% more XP from Raid Battles. Besides a better chance for a Shiny Ho-Oh, lucky trainers can teach their captured legendary Pokemon its signature move, Sacred Fire, using a Charged TM.

Mark your calendars for these events:

• Fashion Week: Taken Over - January 15, 2025, 12:00 pm to January 19, 2025, 8:00 pm (local time)
• Ho-Oh Shadow Raid Day - January 19, 2025, 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm (local time)
