Price of Glory launches major 1.4 update, taking it from 2D to 3D

Author : Alexis Mar 19,2025

Price of Glory, the turn-based strategy game, is getting a significant upgrade with its 1.4 update. This free update introduces a revamped tutorial system and a major graphical overhaul, making the game more accessible and visually appealing.

The update boasts a noticeable graphical improvement. While retaining its charming 2D art style, the game now incorporates 3D effects on landscapes, characters, and buildings, adding depth and visual richness to the gameplay experience.

For newcomers to the Heroes of Might & Magic-like (HOMM-like) genre, the learning curve can be steep. Price of Glory's 1.4 update addresses this with a new Guided Sandbox tutorial. This comprehensive tutorial walks players through the game's mechanics, ensuring a smoother onboarding experience.

Visual Enhancements and Improved Accessibility

While the graphical changes might not be revolutionary, they are a welcome addition for players who prefer a more visually immersive experience. The shift towards incorporating 3D elements helps bridge the gap for those previously hesitant due to the 2D art style.

However, the Guided Sandbox tutorial is arguably the most impactful addition. The complexity inherent in combining Heroes-style strategy, base defense, and diverse unit abilities can be daunting. This new tutorial system significantly lowers the barrier to entry, encouraging players who may have previously found the game too challenging to give it another try.
