Will Wright, creator of The Sims, recently unveiled more details about his upcoming AI-powered life simulation game, Proxi, during a Twitch livestream. This innovative title, first hinted at in 2018, is finally taking shape under the development of Gallium Studio. The livestream, hosted by BreakthroughT1D, a leading organization dedicated to Type 1 diabetes research, provided a deeper look into Proxi's unique mechanics.
A Deep Dive into Interactive Memories
Proxi is described as an "AI life sim built from your memories." Players input personal memories as text, and the game transforms these narratives into animated scenes. These scenes are customizable using in-game assets, allowing for a highly personalized representation of the memories. Each added memory ("mem") trains the game's AI and contributes to the player's "mind world," a navigable 3D environment composed of hexagons.
This "mind world" expands as more memories are added, becoming populated with Proxies representing friends and family. Memories can be freely arranged on a timeline and linked to specific Proxies to reflect the context of each recollection. Remarkably, these Proxies can even be exported to other game worlds, such as Minecraft and Roblox!
The core goal of Proxi is to create "magical connections with memories, bringing them to life." Wright emphasized the game's focus on personal experience, stating: "I found myself getting continuously closer and closer to the player... the more I can make a game about you, the more you'll like it."
Proxi is now featured on Gallium Studio's website, with platform announcements expected soon.
