Splitgate 2 Open Alpha Playtest Dates

Revealed during Sony's February 2025 State of Play event, the Splitgate 2 Open Alpha Playtest opened its doors from February 27 to March 3, 2025. Unlike the PC-exclusive Closed Alpha of 2024, this public testing phase welcomed players across PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.

Participation required no prior registration, making the test freely accessible to all. Developer notes highlight fresh content including redesigned maps, experimental weapons, innovative game modes, and a groundbreaking 24-player (8v8v8) combat scenario.

Recap: Splitgate 2 Closed Alpha Playtest

The inaugural Closed Alpha for Splitgate 2 wrapped up on August 25, 2024 after launching August 21st. Access was restricted to invited testers and participants who secured Alpha keys through either:
• Steam's "Request Access" feature
• Two-hour viewership rewards via Twitch Drops during partnered streams

Though initially limited to PC, developers confirmed subsequent tests in 2025 will expand to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
