"Star Wars, Mandalorian Join Monopoly Go"

Author : Henry May 04,2025

The mobile gaming sensation Monopoly Go is set to enhance its gameplay with a thrilling collaboration with Star Wars, announced at the Star Wars Celebration in Japan. Running from May 1 to July 2, this special event draws inspiration from the iconic Skywalker Saga and the beloved series, The Mandalorian, injecting a dose of science fiction into the classic real estate dice-rolling game.

During the Star Wars season, players will enjoy a delightful cartoon makeover of iconic Star Wars characters. The game will introduce a Star Wars Go sticker album for players to collect and complete, along with the excitement of podracing at the Mos Espa Grand Arena. Collectible in-game items such as tokens, shields, and emojis will also be up for grabs. Imagine the unique spectacle of Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Han Solo, R2D2, Yoda, Anakin Skywalker, and Qui-Gon Jinn mingling with Mr. Monopoly, also known as Rich Uncle Pennybags.

This isn't the first time Monopoly Go has embraced a crossover; last September, it welcomed Marvel characters like Spider-Man, Wolverine, and the Avengers into its universe.

In other news, publisher Scopely has recently expanded its portfolio by acquiring the teams behind Pokémon GO, Pikmin Bloom, and Monster Hunter Now from Niantic, showcasing its commitment to growing its mobile gaming empire.

According to a report from our sister site GamesIndustry.biz, Monopoly Go has been crowned the top game for consumer spending in 2024, amassing an impressive $2.47 billion. This financial success is complemented by 150 million downloads and 10 million daily users in the same year, solidifying Monopoly Go's position as a leader in the mobile gaming industry.
