Dotemu, in collaboration with Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, has announced the upcoming release of Absolum, a thrilling fantasy beat 'em up infused with roguelite elements. Set in the ravaged world of Talamh, the game's narrative unfolds in the aftermath of a devastating magical cataclysm. The inhabitants of Talamh live in fear of magic, a fear that the tyrannical King-Sun Azra manipulates to enslave mages through his oppressive Crimson Order. In response, a courageous band of heroes emerges to challenge his rule. This group includes the necromancer Galandra, the rebel gnome Karl, the mage Brom, and the enigmatic Sidr.
Players diving into Absolum can anticipate a high-octane experience, featuring upgradable abilities, potent combos, and enchanting spells. The game accommodates both solo adventurers and those who prefer cooperative play, allowing players to merge their attacks and synchronize their strikes for devastating effects.
The auditory experience of Absolum is equally compelling, with a soundtrack composed by renowned artists Gareth Coker, celebrated for his work on Ori and Halo Infinite, Yuka Kitamura, known for her contributions to Dark Souls and Elden Ring, and Mick Gordon, the mastermind behind the soundscapes of DOOM Eternal and Atomic Heart.
Absolum is slated for release in 2025, and will be available on PS4/5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, promising to deliver an unforgettable gaming experience to fans of the genre.
