Urshifu and Gigantamax Machamp Debut in Pokémon Go's Might and Mastery Season Finale

Author : Nathan May 25,2025

The Might and Mastery season is set to conclude with a spectacular finale, the Go Battle Week, running from May 21st to 27th. This event promises to be a powerhouse lineup, featuring the much-anticipated debut of Urshifu and Gigantamax Machamp. It's your final opportunity to push toward mastery, with a slew of new encounters, evolutions, and bonuses waiting to reward your hard work.

If you've been nurturing your Kubfu, now's the time to evolve it into Urshifu. You'll need 200 Kubfu Candy and a strategic approach. Depending on whether you're aiming for Single Strike or Rapid Strike Urshifu, you must defeat 30 Dark-type or 30 Water-type Pokémon in raids or Max Battles with Kubfu as your buddy. Choose your path wisely!

The event's free Special Research continues the Might and Mastery storyline, offering additional Kubfu Candy, Mysterious Components, and themed encounters like Charcadet with a Special Background. You'll also have the chance to evolve classic battle favorites like Mankey, Seel, and Froakie into Pokémon with exclusive attacks.

For those looking for a premium experience, the $1.99 Timed Research includes two Premium Battle Passes, Lucky Eggs, and more themed Pokémon. The $7.99 Fuzzy Fighter Special Research allows you to reunite with Dynamax Kubfu, complete with extra items and season-themed encounters. Both are available until the event's end, alongside the Fuzzy Fighter Ultra Ticket Box at the Pokémon Go Web Store.

The excitement peaks on Sunday, May 25th, with Gigantamax Machamp's six-star debut. From 2:00 to 5:00 pm, every Power Spot will host Gigantamax Battles, offering boosted Max Particle rewards and a higher collection cap. Don't forget to redeem those Pokémon Go codes for extra freebies!

The $4.99 event ticket for Max Battle Day grants exclusive Timed Research, featuring 25,000 XP, one Max Mushroom, and significant Max Battle boosts. Leading up to the event, Timed Research will guide you toward a Dynamax Beldum, a solid choice against Machamp.
