A recent leak has stirred excitement among Call of Duty: Warzone players, hinting at the possible return of the beloved Verdansk map in Season 3. Since its introduction with the launch of Call of Duty: Warzone during the Modern Warfare era, Verdansk has captured the hearts of gamers with its iconic locations like the City Center, Airport, Boneyard, and Suburbs. Although it returned in Warzone Mobile, its availability was limited to mobile platforms, leaving console and PC players yearning for its return to the main game. Over time, Verdansk has been succeeded by maps like Pacific Caldera, Al Mazrah, Urzikstan, Vondel, and Verdansk '84. While Verdansk '84 retained some similarities to the original, it introduced a distinct aesthetic and omitted landmarks such as the Gora Dam, leaving fans eager for the classic Verdansk experience.

The leak, shared by Call of Duty news outlet Charlie Intel via a tweet from user TheGhostofHope, includes a screenshot of what appears to be the Verdansk map. It's unclear whether this image is from datamined Season 3 content or simply a replica of the original map. Unlike Verdansk '84, which was tailored to fit the Black Ops: Cold War theme, the leaked map closely resembles the original Verdansk. As Season 3 of Warzone is set to overlap with Black Ops 6, this could attract a surge of players, especially considering the steady decline in Black Ops 6's player base since its release, which hasn't been significantly revitalized by Season 1 or the Squid Game collaboration.

Call of Duty: Warzone Leak Suggests Verdansk Returns in Season 3

Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 are scheduled to kick off on all platforms on January 28 at 9:00 A.M. Pacific Time, marking a 54-day duration for Season 1. This sets a potential standard for the length of Season 2 and future major updates. Season 2 is anticipated to bring enhancements to the Ricochet anti-cheat system and introduce new modes and events. Although no official release date has been set for Season 3, fans are looking forward to a Spring release, which could mean Verdansk's return in March, if the leak proves accurate.

While the leak has generated buzz, it's important to approach this news with caution until confirmed by Activision or Treyarch. Both companies continue to update Black Ops 6 and Warzone, ensuring a steady stream of new content for players, regardless of whether Verdansk makes a comeback.
