Good news for players! Saber Interactive has officially confirmed that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will launch DRM-free. Let's delve into the details of this announcement and what else awaits players.
Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2: A DRM-Free Experience
No Microtransactions, Just Cosmetic Extras
In a recent FAQ, Saber Interactive clarified several key aspects of the upcoming game. Approaching its September 9th release, the developer confirmed the absence of DRM software, such as Denuvo. This decision is significant, as DRM often impacts game performance and has caused issues in the past.
While foregoing DRM, the PC version will utilize Easy Anti-Cheat software at launch. While Easy Anti-Cheat has faced scrutiny in the past, its inclusion aims to maintain fair play.
Currently, there are no plans for official mod support. However, this news is tempered by the inclusion of exciting features like a PvP arena, horde mode, and a comprehensive photo mode. Importantly, Saber Interactive assures players that all core gameplay content is free, with microtransactions strictly limited to cosmetic items. No paid DLC is planned.
