The Witcher 3, while critically acclaimed, wasn't without its flaws. Many fans felt the combat system fell short.
In a recent interview, Witcher 4's game director, Sebastian Kalemba, acknowledged this, specifically citing gameplay and monster hunting as areas needing significant upgrades. His exact words: "We want to improve the gameplay and the monster hunting experience."
Kalemba emphasized that the Witcher 4 trailer should showcase the impactful and powerful nature of monster combat, focusing on improved choreography and emotional weight.
Witcher 4 promises a major combat overhaul, addressing long-standing criticisms of the series. CD Projekt Red recognizes the need for improvement, and these changes will likely benefit future installments, particularly given Ciri's role as the protagonist in the new trilogy.
Interestingly, the developers also plan to include Triss's wedding. In Witcher 3, the "Ashen Marriage" quest, originally intended for Novigrad, saw Geralt aiding Triss and Castello with wedding preparations, including monster extermination, acquiring alcohol, and choosing a gift.
