Application Description

eTide HDF: Your All-in-One Tide Chart App and Widget

eTide HDF provides comprehensive tide information globally, featuring detailed tide charts and widgets for effortless tide tracking. Access tide times for over 10,000 stations across the US, UK, Canada, and more, with forecasts extending several months into the future.

Offline Functionality and Customization:

Enjoy seamless access even without internet connectivity. The app stores up to 50 recent tide charts offline. Highly customizable widgets (resizable from 1x1 to 5x5) display data as charts or tables, automatically updating daily. Offline access to widget data is also included.

Location-Based Tides and Precise Predictions:

eTide HDF utilizes your current location to display nearby tide information ("tides near me"). Intuitive swipe gestures allow for precise minute-by-minute tide predictions over several days. A movable horizontal line on the tide graph helps determine optimal boat launch and retrieval times, saving your preferred depth for each port.

Comprehensive Features:

  • Multiple Time Zones and Units: Supports local, telephone, and GMT time, with height measurements in feet, inches, meters, and centimeters.
  • Distance Measurement: A built-in tool measures distances between two points in miles, kilometers, and nautical miles.
  • Customizable Appearance: Modify chart and table colors and transparency in both the app and widgets. Each station is displayed with a unique color. Day and night themes are available. Font size adjustments ensure optimal readability.
  • Sunrise/Sunset and Moonrise/Moonset: View this data via table and diagram, with an on/off toggle. Tooltips provide station-specific data directly on the map.
  • Sharing Options: Easily share charts and tables via email or messaging apps.

Important Note: The tide data in eTide HDF is not intended for navigational purposes during voyages.

Version 1.5.7 Update (October 20, 2024):

  • Added option to hide current tide values from tide tables.
  • Enhanced offline tide table update quality.
  • Resolved A2 bug affecting the tide chart widget.
