Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Developers Considering Switch 2 Port
"Could Be Interesting" Says Director
Following the remarkable success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, developer Sandfall Interactive is now exploring the possibility of bringing the game to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. In a recent interview with French YouTuber mistermv on May 2, Guillaume Broche, the director of Expedition 33, discussed the studio’s future plans in the wake of their impressive launch.
Broche emphasized how the game's success has shifted their perspective, stating, "Well, at this point, considering the success of the game, it kind of changes everything." He indicated that the team is currently evaluating numerous opportunities that have arisen due to the game's acclaim.
When specifically asked about a potential release on the Switch 2, Broche responded thoughtfully, "So clearly, it's too early to say, but we're kind of in a situation where... let's say there are a lot of opportunities showing up - way too many at once - and we're figuring out what we'll go for and what we won't. But yeah, it's definitely something that could be interesting."
As anticipation builds for the Switch 2, fans are eager to see if they'll have the chance to experience the acclaimed Belle Époque-inspired turn-based RPG on Nintendo's latest handheld console.
No Official Merchandise...Yet!
Amid the flood of opportunities, Sandfall Interactive is also addressing requests for official merchandise, particularly for a plush of the beloved character, Esquie. The studio has not yet released any official merchandise and has warned fans about the proliferation of counterfeit items online. In a Twitter (X) post dated May 14, they explicitly stated, "To be clear: any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are NOT officially licensed."
Sandfall Interactive also highlighted the use of AI-generated artwork in these bootleg products, strongly advising fans against purchasing them due to the potential for scams. However, they offered a glimmer of hope by announcing their plans to create official Esquie plushies.
The studio's tweet reassured fans, "But here’s the wheee to balance out the whooo: we are looking into making official Esquie plushies, and we want to bring them to you as soon as we can. In the meantime, please be patient — and don’t get scammed!"
The enthusiasm for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 continues to grow, and fans can look forward to official merchandise soon. The game is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Stay updated with the latest news by clicking on our article below!
