Battlefield Labs: Shaping the Future of Battlefield Through Community Collaboration
Battlefield Studios, in partnership with Electronic Arts (EA), has launched Battlefield Labs – a revolutionary player-feedback platform designed to directly involve the community in shaping upcoming Battlefield installments. Announced on February 3, 2025, this initiative marks a significant shift towards collaborative game development.

Direct Player Influence on Battlefield's Future
Recognizing the crucial development phase ahead, Battlefield Studios is seeking unprecedented community input. Selected players will act as integral testers, providing invaluable feedback on new features and mechanics for the next Battlefield title. The initial phase of Battlefield Labs will focus on players from European and North American servers, with sign-ups currently open. While participation is initially limited, Battlefield Studios assures regular updates will keep the wider community informed of progress.

"This game has immense potential," stated Vince Zampella, Head of Respawn & Group GM for EA Studios Organization. "Battlefield Labs empowers our teams to unlock that potential through pre-alpha testing and direct community feedback."
The initiative involves DICE, Ripple Effect, Motive, and Criterion Studios – all key players in the Battlefield franchise's history – ensuring a broad range of expertise and perspectives.

Testing Core Gameplay Elements
Battlefield Labs will focus on iterative testing, starting with core gameplay pillars: combat, destruction, weapon/vehicle/gadget balance, and ultimately, map, mode, and squad play integration. Two established modes, Conquest and Breakthrough, will also be part of the testing process.

Conquest, known for its large-scale battles and control point capture, utilizes a ticket system where teams lose tickets upon respawn or enemy flag control. Breakthrough features attackers and defenders, with attackers gaining tickets by securing sectors and eliminating remaining enemy soldiers.
Refinement of the class system is another key focus. While confident in the game's progress, Battlefield Studios recognizes the importance of player feedback to achieve optimal balance between form, function, and feel.

Battlefield Labs represents a significant commitment to community involvement, promising a more collaborative and player-driven future for the Battlefield franchise.
