FFVII Remake Part 3 Development Update: Director Hints at Progress

Game director Hamaguchi recently provided an update on the highly anticipated sequel, urging fans to exercise patience as new information will be revealed at a later date. The team is diligently working on the project.

Hamaguchi highlighted the success of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in 2024, citing its numerous awards and global player engagement. Building on this momentum, the developers aim to broaden the FFVII fanbase with the third game, promising unique gameplay challenges.

Interestingly, Hamaguchi also mentioned being impressed by Grand Theft Auto VI, expressing empathy for the Rockstar Games team and acknowledging the immense pressure they face following GTA V's phenomenal success.

Specific details regarding the third installment remain scarce, though Hamaguchi assures fans that development is progressing smoothly. This is noteworthy given the recent release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. However, he promises a truly unique experience for players.

While Final Fantasy XVI's May 2024 launch sales underperformed initial projections and fell short of fiscal year targets, the exact figures remain undisclosed. Similarly, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth sales also lagged behind expectations, though Square Enix maintains that neither title is a complete failure, and that Final Fantasy XVI still has potential to meet its targets within the allotted 18-month timeframe.
