Killing Floor 3 Delayed to Later in 2025
Tripwire Interactive, the developer behind the highly anticipated co-op zombie shooter Killing Floor 3 (KF3), announced a significant delay on March 7th, 2025. The game, initially slated for release on March 25th, will now launch at an unspecified date later in 2025. This decision follows a closed beta test that received overwhelmingly negative feedback.
Disappointing Beta Test Results
Tripwire announced the delay on their official Bluesky account, stating that the beta test revealed significant issues that require substantial addressing. The post highlighted concerns regarding performance and stability, user interface and experience (UI/UX), lighting, and weapon feel. The developer acknowledged falling short of expectations and emphasized their commitment to delivering a game that upholds the core Killing Floor experience.
Player feedback from the beta was largely critical, with many describing the game as "insanely clunky and clumsy," "unpolished," and "glitch-ridden." Several players expressed concern over the apparent shift away from the series' horror roots towards a more futuristic sci-fi aesthetic, and the character-locked class system. One Reddit user, Captain_Pugman, summarized the sentiment: "At what point did you forget what made Killing Floor special?"
Tripwire concluded their announcement by expressing their commitment to improving the game and promising to provide updates as they become available. They thanked fans for their patience and support.
Pre-Order Refunds
Tripwire's Senior Community Manager, Yoshiro, detailed the refund process for pre-orders on the official forums. Automatic refunds and cancellations will be processed for pre-orders on PlayStation, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store. However, US PlayStation users will have the option to retain their pre-order. Steam users will need to initiate refunds manually through Steam support. Refunds from other third-party platforms will be subject to their individual policies.
