Nintendo has revealed the upgrade costs for two additional Switch games transitioning from the original Switch to the Switch 2 Edition, Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Super Mario Party Jamboree — and they come with a hefty price tag.
Upgrading The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom costs $9.99 each from the original Switch version to the Switch 2 Edition, but NintendoLife reported that upgrades for both Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Super Mario Party Jamboree are more than double that amount.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild includes enhanced graphics and performance, achievements, and support for the new "Zelda Notes" feature in the Nintendo Switch Online app. Owners of the original Breath of the Wild on Switch won’t receive these features automatically but can buy an "upgrade pack" for $10 to unlock them.
The Switch 2 Edition of Kirby and the Forgotten Land’s Star-Crossed World introduces new story elements. Meanwhile, Super Mario Party Jamboree’s Switch 2 Edition offers a new content suite called Jamboree TV, utilizing Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, the Switch 2 microphone, and the separately sold Switch 2 USB-C camera. It also features upgraded resolution up to 1440p in TV mode, improved frame rates, new minigames, and enhanced online functionality.
While U.S. pricing on the American Nintendo eShop remains unconfirmed — possibly due to uncertainties surrounding President Trump’s tariffs — the UK Nintendo eShop lists the Kirby and the Forgotten Land upgrade pack at £16.99 / €19.99, over twice the £7.99 / €9.99 charged for upgrading either Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom.
The Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV upgrade carries the same price, suggesting a likely $19.99 cost in the U.S.
The $20 upgrade price for both games may reflect the steep $80 cost of Kirby and The Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star Crossed World and Super Mario Party Jamboree - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV. The original Switch versions of both games are priced at $59.99, $20 less than their Switch 2 counterparts.
