Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage – A Roguelike Deck-Builder Sets Sail in 2025
Fabled Game Studio is preparing to launch Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage, the highly anticipated sequel to their 2019 hit, Pirates Outlaws. This enhanced roguelike deck-building game promises familiar fun with significant upgrades. A full release is slated for 2025 across Android, iOS, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
An open beta test is currently underway on Steam, running from October 25th to 31st. Mobile gamers will need to wait a little longer for their chance to experience the updated gameplay. But before you embark on this new seafaring adventure, let's explore what's changed.
What's New in Pirates Outlaws 2?
Pirates Outlaws 2 introduces a fresh protagonist with a backstory set years after the original game. This new hero starts with pre-built decks and unique ability cards. The game also introduces companions, each contributing their own specialized cards.
A new card fusion mechanic allows players to combine three identical cards into a more powerful version. An evolution tree provides deck upgrades, offering strategic choices for players. Previously discarded cards now have upgrade potential.
Relic acquisition has been revamped. Instead of finding them after every battle, relics are now discovered in markets, after boss fights, or during special events.
Battles feature a new Countdown system influencing enemy actions. The "End Turn" button is replaced by a "ReDraw" mechanic. A revised armor and shield system adds another layer of strategic depth.

Are You Ready to Set Sail?
Despite the new mechanics, the core gameplay of Pirates Outlaws remains intact. Players will still build decks, navigate the seas, and conquer the Arena and Campaign modes. Classic features such as ammo management, melee-ranged-skill card combos, curses, and diverse enemy races are all returning. Visit the official website for more details.
